After-effects

Create me an image of after-effects inside the human body

What, after-effects? Well, for me, whether we like it or not, the “survivors” of Ambohimalaza all have after-effects. To varying degrees, certainly, depending on each individual, but they all have after-effects, that’s for sure.

def. sequela: a more or less delayed and lasting complication of an illness or trauma.

Poisoning of this severity has certainly affected vital organs: the digestive system, the respiratory system… cardiology, neurology, the full works!

And once again, depending on the individual, the degrees of damage vary. And as you’ve noticed, the findings are always almost identical: the person seems to be getting better

… then dies suddenly overnight. Because a vital function has simply failed. It sounds brutal, but that’s how it is.

That’s why I have the greatest reservations about your “sitrana” comments. It requires extremely close monitoring, frequent check-ups/assessments to verify the condition of all organs, and very rapid action as soon as an abnormality is detected.

And unfortunately, knowing the healthcare system in Madagougou, it’s easy to imagine that this kind of follow-up costs an arm and a leg. Between the tests, imaging, scans, and MRIs, waaa…

That’s why this death yesterday, almost three months after the tragic event, doesn’t surprise me at all. And the bad news is that there’s a risk of more if the follow-up I mentioned isn’t done properly.

And of course, we imagine that the famous state “aid” stops as soon as the patient is declared cured and leaves the hospital? Well, as you can see, not so cured then.

Oh, what a country… no water, no electricity… and a healthcare system clearly reserved for the “rich”… the cost of living, the insecurity that’s as bad as it gets. Waaaa, the daily grind is shitty. Poor but happy, hono.

And with all that, are there also evacs reserved for the wealthy? In short, Madagougou is the island of death from which you can’t leave, right?

Well, listen, at this point, I don’t really know what to tell you anymore. As for me, once again, as soon as I felt that this medical care was starting to stink, I didn’t ask for anything else and I left.

And given your degraded living conditions, I’m not going to come back anytime soon, eh.
