Huh? Lol, who cares? 🤣 Oh yes, absolutely. 7 years, 3 months, and 5 days.
So in 2653 days? Well, not a single water or electricity outage.
And just for that, we can already cut this column short, right? 🤣
But let’s go further. In 2,653 days, no assault. No theft. No scams. No scams. No stolen car stereo, no missing battery, no unwanted intrusion into my home.
In 2,653 days, I’ve been stopped by the police three times. The first time, I admit, it was my fault; I didn’t stop at a stop sign. GVT ê 🤣 So, too bad for me.
The other two were routine traffic stops, no problem, quick check, Hello, Thank you, Goodbye.
What else? Oh yes, the transportation infrastructure, what a marvel. To get from point A to point B, far away or not, you’re not forced to follow a single mode or route.
We travel by car, scooter, bus, taxi, Uber, metro, RER, regional line, high-speed train, plane, boat. Or even on foot, on real sidewalks.
We also travel on real roads: departmental roads, national roads, highways.
Apps always inform you of traffic conditions in real time and don’t hesitate to immediately reroute you if there’s a significant delay.
And that feeling of security too. We don’t have to be home by 5:00 PM to avoid the risk of having our throats slit.
Cities and streets are lit, and there’s life after 5:00 PM. In fact, it never ends.
And that feeling of security? Well, yes, because when you call the cops or the fire department, you know they’ll be there quickly.
Very quickly. And the thugs know this too, so they’ll think twice before attacking you.
What else in 2,653 days? Ah, the healthcare system. Public hospitals that are well-equipped, and especially clean.
I admit, the emergency rooms are overcrowded, but in an extreme emergency, you call the fire department and that’s it.
Of course, everything is practically free, thanks to social security, which everyone finances proportionally to their income.
And of course, we have private clinics here too. Again, no need to sell a tanimbary to access them; health insurance is there for that.
Security, access to quality healthcare… what else? National education, of course. By the way, the princess visited her future school last week.
Wow, it’s beautiful, it’s big, it’s well-equipped, it’s secure. With trained staff, real teachers. Everything is structured, standardized… and free 🤣
Of course, there are paid “options,” but basically, it’s free. And school is compulsory from the age of 3.
What else? Ah, Justice… real Justice. It’s certainly a bit overloaded, but here, there’s no bribe to speed up the process… or to turn it in your favor 🤣
So, that’s a glimpse of life here in civilization. There are still plenty of other things and gadgets, of course. Culture, leisure, things to visit, and all that…
And everywhere, as much as possible, one watchword: clean, standardized infrastructure, with nature always respected as much as possible.
My only criticism? I unfortunately notice that some people, regardless of their nationality or skin color, still consider themselves to be from the country.
Well no, my friend, you’re not in the country anymore, and things don’t work like they do here. There’s no racism, but then we don’t really want to live with certain communities… dirty and noisy?
