Ambohimalaza: so what about this presidential intervention?

Huh? Oh yes, we reported what was said, we discussed it, but indeed, I haven’t yet given my personal opinion, what I think of this intervention.

So, right off the bat, we have to be honest. He’s not talking, he’s attracting criticism, with suspicions of hiding things, of protecting third parties, in short, pro-max conspiracy theories at their peak.

Conversely, he’s talking, as he just did, well, it’s always the same: but what right does he have to talk? Who does he think he is? Is he the investigators? Is he the Justice Department? And indeed, go and pursue an investigation after such a show! An investigation with different conclusions, for example?

In short, in both cases, there’s a problem. So, criticism is easy, so what should we have done?

Well, what should have been done, as we’ve already said, is no mystery. What do you mean? Communicate, of course… but it has to be the right people doing it. And certainly not the President of the Republic.

But who then? Certainly not any of those who were on set in Iavoloha either. Too soliloquial, too stammering in front of the camera, some even smug, even arrogant. Just like his entire corporation, for that matter.

We won’t dwell on the crazy family gatherings that no one understood a thing about.

Yes, so what? Well, I don’t know. A truly independent prosecutor who doesn’t give a damn about the President and his Ministers, for starters, just to have a modicum of credibility.

And who has only one compass. Who doesn’t care whether it’s poisoning, intoxication, botulism, adulterated oil, datura, or deadly nightshade: the truth, period. Only the truth. The whole truth.

Elliott Ness? No, I’m thinking more of a certain Jim Harrison. Yes, absolutely, the prosecutor in charge of the Kennedy assassination investigation.

As you might expect, it’s a long, complicated investigation, with pressure from all sides: the secret services, the media, and so on.

But in my opinion, this is how it should have been done if we wanted to reach even minimally credible conclusions.

Because right now, it seems like the case is almost over, right? Everything has been stated in such a firm and definitive tone, and as mentioned above, who will now dare to go against these statements?

So, that’s my feeling about this Iavoloha episode. Yet another personality cult, in the end. I note that the victims’ families are also far from convinced.
